Overall Reflection

In this e-portfolio, I have recorded my work in the EDU502 module “Teaching and Learning.” By completing this assignment, I had the opportunity to look at the tasks I have done, reflect, and share my findings with my classmates, colleagues and the public.  In addition, it is a critical analysis of the choices I made regarding the tasks I carried out on blackboard discussions. Some of these assignments challenged me a lot and gave me a great sense of pride.

This module enabled me to have a greater understanding of the link between the learning theories and the teaching practices.  At this point, I know more about behaviorism, constructivism, and cognitivism along with the contributions of Piaget, Erikson, Kohlberg, Von Glasersfeld, Bruner, and John Dewey in the learning arena.

Moreover, the readings and module assignments gave me the opportunity to read chapters of the basic educational books such as Educational Psychology of Kelvin Seifert and Rosemary Sutton, The Psychology of Education of Martyn Long and his colleagues, Educational Psychology, Theory and Practice of Slavin, cognitive psychology of Sternberg, How People Learn: Brain, Mind, Experience, Teaching Strategies of Orlich and many more.

In addition, this E-portfolio assignment enhanced my ICT skills through searching hosting sites, as well as planning, developing and organizing the components of my website. I feel empowered and educated regarding the quality of what am I going to share with educational practitioners.

In general. studying this module added a valuable wealth of knowledge to my vast experience in teaching and educational management. This really encouraged me to feel more confident in the material I present to educators.

Finally, I would like to thank all of the BUID faculty members who planned and delivered this module.  Thank you for facilitating the scheduling of this module in this semester specifically because it allowed me to finish my modules. Special thanks to the Dean Dr. Iman Gaad, MLP coordinator Dr. Solomon David, and Dr. Emad Abu Ayyash as well.
