Narrative Reflection 1
I am happy that I choose this type of chapter review. It was interesting to learn about the relationship between psychology and education. In addition, it’s amazing how the psychological knowledge, theories and techniques can help us understand how we learn and address the learning needs of students. Moreover; I learned about the importance of evaluating real-life applications of psychological ideas rather than relying on ideas that are derived purely from the original abstract theories. I also appreciate that the application of different psychological perspectives of education helps in generating alternative ways of approaching problems such as understanding the behavior of children in school. As an example, behavioral approach is based on rote learning while cognitive approaches emphasize the use of meaning and understanding.
